is the key to establishing trust and respect in client relationships, since it
offers its owner the privilege of the credibility that accompanies the expertise
gained through such learning. A relevant and growing knowledge of sound

dictates that agents complete the course prior to the end of their fourth year

The author of the course is TABS School Director Carmen Lostetter Multhauf,
a practicing California real estate broker who specializes in real estate education
and the publication of “The Real Estate Guide Series” manuals. She
has earned designations as an Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR®), a Certified
Residential Specialist (CRS®), and is a Senior Housing Specialist, as well
as being a Graduate of the Realtor® Institute (GRI). She has also served
on the NAR Buyer Broker Forum, and is the founding author of the Senior Housing
Specialist Certification program, which qualifies as the education module for
the SRES® designation.
Initial reactions from California real estate licensees is overwhelmingly
positive, noting specifically the course’s substantive information and
comprehensive, easy-to-follow structure, pertinent case studies, and entertaining
delivery. When surveyed, one participant responded, “Carmen’s
courseware is laid out as an interesting read, and is much easier to comprehend
over just reading the form.” Another wrote that, “This course
gave me a different view of real estate and the tools and information I need
