- Sara Nguyen, a real estate professional with Prudential Gary
Greene, Realtors, and a finalist in the first Season of The
Real Estate Apprentice, has received The President's Volunteer
Service Award from President George W. Bush for her volunteer
services at the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center.
The President's Volunteer Service Award is a presidential
recognition program for Americans who contribute a significant
amount of time to volunteer service. The program recognizes
those who achieve a certain standard, measured by the number
of hours served over a 12-month period. Nguyen was recognized
with the bronze award for volunteering 150 hours of her time
to the center.
"It was truly a special honor to receive this award
from President Bush," said Nguyen. Nguyen was nominated
by Liz Foley, volunteer services manager for the Gulf Coast
Regional Blood Center. Foley said that the staff at the center
chose Nguyen because of her outstanding contribution to the
center, which included time on the community council and at
blood drives.
"Sara has been instrumental in helping us accomplish
our goal, which is to save lives today and in the future,"
said Foley. "She is very easy to work with and is sincere
and dedicated."
In a few months, Nguyen will be coordinating a blood drive
in Fort Bend County hosted by the agents in her office. She
also volunteers time for other charities and is an advocate
for women in crisis pregnancies.
She graduated cum laude from the University of Houston with
a BBA in finance and management and works out of Prudential
Gary Greene's Fort Bend office.
