ALISO VIEJO, CA., Sept 20, 2005 - Kathleen “Katie” Wyatt, winner
of the Grand Prize Award for Season II for the Real Estate Apprentice Grant competition
announced today that she has signed a contract to join Keller Williams Realty
of Wichita, Kansas beginning September 23, 2005. “We are very excited about
partnering with Katie Wyatt”, said Keller Williams’ Team Leader Penny
Johnson, “Having the Real Estate Apprentice Foundation choose Katie as
the Season II Grand Prize Winner delights us at KW,” she added. Kendra
Shearer, the Season I Grand Prize Winner also had signed on with Keller Williams
of Marietta Georgia on May 3rd. Based on the current trend it appears that the
National Real Estate Franchisor Keller Williams Realty has their eyes securing
top producing new rookies before the other national Franchisors do. Other National
Franchisors did however also secure quality new agents when Coldwell Banker and
Century 21 each had two of their rookies reach the finals and RE/MAX, Prudential
and Weichert Realtors® each enjoyed one in the final top 10.
When Katie was asked why she had chosen Keller Williams she replied: “The
order of Keller William’s core values of God first, family, and then business
aligns with my own. I was particularly impressed with Keller William’s
care and internal support system that provides critical assistance to those within
the KW family. The compassion of the company is evident in how the program is
structured. Community involvement and the heart of the corporate vision are important
to me. Their business vision of helping agents build businesses worth having
is evident in the training material, education system and the mentoring that
is provided for every agent. From Rookie to top producer, each agent is welcome
and provided with tools for phenomenal success that fit their own personality
style and strengths. I am very learning based and the mentoring tools, technology
and information in a variety of mediums is just amazing. Their core values support
and encourage me in my efforts to offer excellent customer service, build fantastic
and positive personal relations and grow a caring and profitable business that
gives back to the community. I also love the passion and enthusiasm of the Team
that wants me to play with them. I feel that it would be almost impossible to
fail utilizing their approach and philosophy. They have encouraged my heart and
validated my vision of my own life’s purpose.”
Founded in 1983, Keller Williams® Realty Inc. is an international real estate
franchising company with 464 offices located across the U.S. and Canada. Keller
Williams began franchising its offices in 1991, and followed this with years
of strong growth. Keller Williams is the fifth-largest real estate franchisor
in North America. The company has succeeded by treating its 42,691 associates
as partners and shares its knowledge, policy control, and company profits on
a system-wide basis. Keller William’s goal is to be in 500 market centers,
with 50,000 agents and the production of 5,000 millionaires. Keller Williams’ revenues
in 2004 were in excess of $1.3 billion, profit sharing in 2004 was over $28 million
and the average annual agent growth rate is 52%.
When asked what special qualities she saw in Katie Wyatt, her Team Leader Penny
Johnson responded by saying: “We have seen Katie buy grocery bags full
of books, not only to launch her career but to enhance her own personal life.
She is extremely learning based, and has the innate ability to touch people’s
hearts and to move an entire room of people. Her belief system and work ethic
exemplify the values and culture of Keller Williams Realty. We are thankful to
welcome her to our company.” “The talents and gifts which God blessed
Katie Wyatt with and her generous spirit will enable her to maximize all of the
career enhancing gifts from the Real Estate Apprentice Grant to benefit not only
herself but others as well” she added.
According to the Foundation’s Deputy Executive Director, Dr. Martin Oliver:
three new Keller Williams rookie agents: Daphne Jackson, Roland Castillo, and
Terri Romere, were also among the Top 1% of Semi-Finalist applicants (6 of 30)
chosen to compete for the Real Estate Apprentice Grant Award for Season II (January
- June 05). “In a super competitive industry, many new agents never get
their careers off the ground. Our selection of these three Keller Williams applicants
was based on multiple criteria, not the least of which was their demonstrated
excellent sales or listing results given their short time in the business,” said
Oliver.
The Real Estate Apprentice Grant Program is open to all new real estate students
that are US or Canadian citizens or legal residents that have taken or will be
taking a real estate licensing course or who became licensed as a new agent during
the six month grant season period (January 1st to June 30th 2005) or 90 days
preceding this period. Applicants do not have to already work for a real estate
brokerage company and company affiliation pays no role in the judging process.
Interested persons can apply online at www.RealEstateApprentice.com. Every six
months inaugurates a new Season. The competition is judged on the basis of answers
to essay questions, which demonstrate: Salesmanship and communication skills,
entrepreneurial spirit, integrity, creativity, and uniqueness. Every six months
12 leading Judges select 10 new winners. Their bios can be viewed at: http://www.realestateapprentice.com/judges.cfm .
