Texas Real Estate School Nabs Top Honors
Weber Receives Life-Time Achievement Award
ALISO VIEJO, CA – January 25, 2008 – RealtyU, Inc. the largest network of schools and colleges in the real estate industry just held its annual conference, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. According to Thomas M. Mitchell, SVP of RealtyU, “This year’s two day conference, Beyond The Wave, was focused on addressing many of the issues facing the real estate industry that directly impact real estate education.” The event attended my many of the premier real estate schools across the country use the planning and strategic meeting to identify the need for new courseware for the year ahead and to exchange business ideas for better educating real estate brokers and agents.
This year, RealtyU presented its premier award; the Barry Richardson Lifetime Achievement Award, to Hugo “Skip” Weber, Jr., owner of Polley Associates in Pennsylvania. In presenting the award, RealtyU Chairman Stefan Swanepoel said that the award was “In sincere acknowledgement of the outstanding achievement, unmatched leadership and significant contribution Weber has made to strengthen real estate education in general.” Previously known as the Chairman’s Award, this award was renamed in 2005 and presented in memory of Barry Richardson, one of the co-founders of RealtyU back in 1995.
Weber started his real estate education career as an instructor for the Temple University Real Estate Institute in 1974. He is a 23 year member and past Chair for the Voluntary Education Advisory Committee to the Pennsylvania State Real Estate Commission and is a charter member and past national president (1991/92) of the Real Estate Educators Association (REEA). Weber is a current and charter Advisory Board member to the National Association of REALTORS®, Real Estate Buyers Agent Council (REBAC). In November of 2002 REBAC inducted Skip into the REBAC Hall of Fame in recognition of Polley Associates and his service to REBAC and buyer agents across the country.
Top honors for any school to receive, is the Pinnacle Award. This year, for the second year in a row, the outstanding school for 2007 was Champions School of Real Estate with offices in Houston, Dallas and San Antonio, Texas. Champions School of Real Estate is owned by Rita Santamaria and has been providing the quality education for Texas real estate agents since 1983.
Other recognition bestowed at the conference for exceptionally high performance and professional contribution by outstanding educators during 2007 went to Claudia Crowell (WA), Arthur Gary (ME), Rhonda Hamilton (TX) and Skip Weber (PA).
