ALISO VIEJO, CA, November 13, 2006 – The Seattle-King County Association of REALTORS® (S.K.C.A.R.) and RealtyU® Group of Companies today announced cooperating to enhance the careers of S.K.C.A.R. Realtors® to become more profitable and successful. Now S.K.C.A.R. and RealtyU® will collectively work to influence and shape the real estate industry in a more constructive way.
Founded in 1995, the RealtyU® Group and has grown to become the largest career development and real estate education provider in the United States. The RealtyU® School network has over 200 campuses across the country, operates over 30 different online education services and owns or manages hundreds of real estate courses, products and services. In 2005, the RealtyU® Group educated 305,000 real estate agents Realtors® and in classroom settings and 32,000 online. According to Thomas M. Mitchell, SVP for RealtyU® Group of Companies, “It is more than size; it is professionalism and quality that are the most revered traits of the RealtyU® real estate education network.”
With S.K.C.A.R. becoming a RealtyU® Affiliate, both groups will now together expand SKCAR’s existing educational portfolio to also include business planning, mentoring, and additional courses. “RealtyU® professional development tools will work in conjunction with S.K.C.A.R.’s educational portfolio, products, services, courses, and research assets already set in place for our members,” said Claudia Crowell, Director of Business Practices. “We are continually focused on the purpose of advancing Realtors® education and preserving the free enterprise system through our membership,” she added.
RealtyU® Real Estate School owners are leaders in both real estate and Realtors® education having held or currently holding leadership positions in local, state and national REALTOR® Associations. Seven have served as National President of the Real Estate Educators Association (REEA), six have been inducted into the REBAC Hall of Fame, while many others have authored books and/or completed advanced studies and hold Masters and/or Doctorate degrees.
The 8,800 member Seattle-King County Association of REALTORS®was founded in 1908, and is a non-profit professional trade organization whose Realtor® members are licensed real estate professionals. The association is headquartered in Bellevue, Washington and is governed by an elected board of directors. S.K.C.A.R., one of approximately 1,600 state, regional and local Realtors® associations.
